2023 KCSE Results Updates. The results of the 903,260 candidates who took the KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) exam in 2023 are now accessible.
Ezekiel Machogu, cabinet secretary for education, will present the findings early tomorrow at the prestigious Mitihani House.
The CS launched the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) portal, which gives users access to the 2023 KCSE results, unlike in prior years.
To view the results, parents and candidates must go to the portal and input their KCSE names and index numbers.
The lengthy delay for the results, according to the CS, has three causes.
2023 KCSE Results Updates
The results were supposed to be made public on Friday, December 29th, but CS Machogu called off the exercise, stating that compilation, validation, and verification were still ongoing.
“The marking process is now complete. Right now, we’re gathering the grades, validating them, and verifying them. It’s quite the procedure, as you know, in order for us to publish reliable results at the end of the day,” Machogu stated in a special interview.
However, a new grading system designed to increase the number of kids enrolling in universities will favor the 2023 KCSE applicants.
In August, the new grading scheme was announced. The Presidential Working Party’s recommended grading scheme for education reforms emphasizes students’ strengths in certain disciplines while reducing the number of required subjects.
Students will receive grades based on their achievement in mathematics and two other required disciplines, which can be any language, such as national sign language, kiswahili, or English.
However, this time around, there will just be two required subjects: English language and mathematics, together with Kiswahili or National Sign Language.
We’re doing this to let students pursue the disciplines they excel in,” he said.
According to him, students have varying degrees of aptitude, with some excelling in the social sciences, the arts, sports, and STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
