KUCCPS Extends Deadline For TVET Application. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended the application deadline for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
The updated deadline is January 12, 2024, as per the statement released on the Placement Body’s social platform.
This initiative offers a renewed opportunity for individuals who took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) between 2000 and 2022 to enhance their skills through a government-sponsored program.
Interested applicants can seek assistance by visiting any public TVET institution across the country.
The TVET program caters to students with a minimum KCSE Grade of E for artisan certificate courses, while those aiming for craft certificate courses should have a mean grade of D and above.
Additionally, applicants for diploma courses should possess a mean grade of C – (minus) and above.
How To Apply
To apply, individuals can utilize the online application portal at students.kuccps.net. Log in using relevant credentials such as KCSE index number, KCSE year, and password. New applicants are advised to use their birth certificate number or KCSE index number.
Once logged in, select four preferred courses and the government institution of choice, prioritizing them from most to least preferable before submitting the application.
The TVET programs’ core objective is to equip learners with skills and knowledge applicable to the workplace. In 2023, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu revealed that 9,673 students qualified for degree courses, choosing to enroll in TVET institutions.
This decision highlights the significant impact of TVET in supplying the labor market with competent professionals.
