She uttered the sentiments while addressing at the state house during the press briefing.Dr. William Ruto, the president, gave the KUCCPS CEO instructions to publicize information about the portal’s launch. “The president also said that the delay in portal opening was done to give the administration time to think through the new funding mechanism for academic institutions.

Our universities and TVETs have suffered greatly as a result of our long-term postponement of this task. In addition, many of the vice chancellors now have grey hair—not from old age, but from trying to control the circumstances in their institutions.It’s time to figure out the model.
I’m happy to report that these VCs made significant contributions to the model. Now that they brought the good ideas we had put together and put this funding model in place, our work was very straightforward, Ruto said.The president also said that admission to colleges and TVETs would not depend on funds but instead would follow the new finance model.
The new funding model requires universities and TVETs to raise resources in order to improve education quality and draw in more students.The four funding mechanisms that will assure the sustainability of universities and TVETs were to be highlighted by the president. These models consist of;
~Capital infrastructure grants
~Fee-for-services which include consultancy.
We will now focus on the other three funding choices after creating a complex structure for student-centered funding, Ruto said.
