The Kenya Women Teachers Association has challenged TSC to keenly asses the criteria of teacher promotions. The association has however indicated that automatic promotion should be introduced as a pathway to excellent teaching among teachers.
A system that evaluates teachers need to be developed for automatic promotion of teachers to work properly. This system will be tasked at analyzing and evaluating the teachers’ classroom performance and teaching experience.
With such an approach in place, teachers will be recommended for automatic promotions as they will have shown dedication to their work.
At the moment, the promotion process has been termed as tiresome, discriminatory and unfair that needs to be eliminated.In a nut shell, the automatic promotion of teachers is still under discussing but has not yet been fully effected.
