TSC Delayed Promotion List. A Teachers Service Commission (TSC) study states that there will be longer wait times for promotions for thousands of educators nationwide.
Only 11,231 of the 28,681 teachers who applied for promotion last year were granted it.
This information is revealed in the TSC Annual Report 2022/2023. Since promotions take place every three years, the remaining 17,450 instructors will have to wait until 2025 for the next round of promotions.
A thorough assessment of the commission’s activities, including significant accomplishments, difficulties, new concerns, and possible courses of action, is given in the TSC Annual Report 2022/2023.
According to the report, TSC hired 15,000 permanent and pensionable instructors and 26,000 interns, with 4,000 in basic schools and 22,000 in junior secondary schools.
This effort sought to solve shortages caused by the 100 percent transition from primary to secondary school and the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia stressed the importance of the new teachers in attaining critical educational goals.

“In response to emerging trends in education, the commission will seek to review its legislative framework and develop relevant policy frameworks that will ensure smooth implementation of its mandate and provision of quality teaching in all basic public education institutions,” Dr. Muturi said in a statement
The study expresses worries about mental health and emphasizes disciplinary issues related with indications of mental illness, including as absenteeism, desertion, and the use of corporal punishment.
The teachers who will be promoted in 2025 have their names published in the TSC website. They will have to wait longer for them to earn the promotions.
