TSC Intern Advert For Grade 8 Teachers Recruitment. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has developed a new plan that includes hiring new grade 8 instructors as well as extending the contracts of the current intern serving teachers.
As part of the updated plan, the commission will hire a minimum of 18,000 intern instructors for junior secondary schools (JSS).
Prior to the start of sessions in January 2024, these educators are anticipated to be assigned
TSC intends to start employing new interns and extending the contracts of current interns after the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) ends.
The intern educators were employed in January of this year and are currently under the internship program.
They will have to add a full year’s worth of insurance coverage.
For individuals who wish to continue working as interns, TSC will automatically renew their internship contract.
In 2025, the presently serving intern instructors will have permanent positions, according to the Commission.
The majority of intern instructors have not taken the aforementioned news lightly once the committee announced it.

Many of them have expressed disapproval of TSC’s most recent announcement,saying it embarrasses them and even the incoming intern recruits.
The teacher interns who were hired in January of this year had high expectations for confirmation when their contract,which expires in December 2023, was announced.
After a year of service, TSC hired intern teachers and converted them to permanent positions with pension benefits.
TSC Director Antonina Lentoijoni and TSC Director Calvin Anyuor announced that all 46,000 teachers hired on internship terms will be absorbed after two years of service.
TSC representatives testified in favor of the commission, stating that their policy allows teacher internship service to be extended for a maximum of two years.
The low pay, which is out of line with the existing standard of living,is the reason that far more people are discouraged than the low compensation for teacher internships.
The deployment letters said that Kshs. 15,000 will be paid as a monthly stipend to TSC intern teachers assigned to primary schools.
While Kshs. 20,000 will be given to those enrolled in high schools.
Unfortunately, the new tax laws cause secondary school interns to lose out on about sh. 2500 in deductions, while those in primary school receive about 1500 less.
