According to TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, the government will hire teachers to fill the teacher deficit at all educational levels.
In the next five years, 111,870 new instructors will be hired, according to Macharia.
Macharia was speaking at the unveiling of the commission’s 2023–2027 strategic plan.

The CEO predicted that it will take Sh134 billion over the course of five years to hire 111,870 instructors.
The government also said it had given the commission $4.68 billion to hire 20,000 student teachers.
The government will employ 25,000 teachers on June 28, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu revealed.
The 46th Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) annual conference was held in Mombasa where Machgu spoke.
“We hired 36,000 new teachers last fiscal year and will hire an additional 25,000 teachers in the next fiscal year,” Machgun said.
Machgu assured the public that the Kenyan Kwanza government will do everything in its power to promote the development of the education system.
President William Ruto’s government has given the biggest part of the Education package to the Teacher Service Corps.
In the 2023-24 budget, TSC was allocated Sh636.7 billion, or 50 per cent of the total education allocation of Sh628.6 billion.
In addition, the Council was given $4.8 billion to pay for the hiring of 20,000 temporary classroom teachers.
