TSC Promotion Of Teachers 2023. The National Treasury informed their employer (TSC) on Thursday that it had provided them with Sh1 billion, allowing at least 13,713 teachers who had remained in the same work group to smile.
Julius Melly, chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, stated that the decision to award teachers raises was taken to motivate them to provide children with quality instruction.
The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) in Mombasa was instructed by Mr. Melly to give long-tenured teachers a higher priority.
We donated Sh1 billion to the ministry so it could fundraise for teachers. He claimed that since they haven’t received promotions in a while, teachers in pay grades D3 to D4 should receive special consideration.

In response to KESSHA chairman Kahi Indimuli’s concerns regarding the length of time it takes for a deputy principle to get to principal, he said this.
In addition Mr. Indimuli says that when new principals were sent to those schools, long-time assistant principals were often demoted instead of being considered for a promotion.
Further, Indimuli said that when a deputy principal is promoted to principal for a short time and then moved back to a class teacher or subject head, it is “demoralising and lowering.”
An early TSC letter said that 4,595 current primary school teachers in Job Group C will be moved up to Job Group C2 over the next few years.
Group C2 workers moved to Group C3, and Group C3 workers became C4 teachers. The amount of money set aside for this effort was Sh1 billion. In July, training will begin.
A recent message from TSC said that it will cost more than Sh175 million to move 652 college teachers from Grade D3 to Grade D4.
Under this plan, 13,713 teachers in secondary and primary schools, such as vice principals, senior masters, secondary teachers, department heads, and junior department heads, will be given promotions.
There will be 2,733 regular primary school principal promotions, 1,330 regular secondary school teacher promotions, 1,725 regular deputy principal II promotions, 602 regular school leader promotions, 224 secondary school deputy principal III promotions, and 208 senior master II promotions.
In total, at least Sh2.2 billion has been given to TSC by Parliament to pay for teacher development and pay raises.
Representatives from the Ministry of Education told the leaders in Mombasa yesterday that the government is working hard to fix the serious teacher shortage. Ezekiel Machogu, the head of the Education Cabinet, said on Wednesday that 24,000 more teachers would be hired for the next fiscal year.
The government of President William Ruto has hired a total of sixty thousand new teachers.
The TSC sends a positive message to teachers who have been working in the same job for years.
Indimuli asked the TSC yesterday to change the standard five-year pre-transfer time to two years so that newly hired teachers with families would have more flexibility.
He also said he didn’t like how officials use such things to decide who gets to move and who stays put when it comes to teacher changes.
He said that some leaders are trying to remove teachers from their jobs, even though the teachers haven’t asked to be moved. He swore he would find out which lawmakers were behind a plan to get rid of teachers they found offensive.
Teachers can be hired to work in any part of the country, so Indimuli claimed that those who haven’t asked to be moved should be safe from political pressure.
On the other hand, Melly strongly denied claims that legislators were getting in the way of the TSC’s ability to transfer teachers. She said that lawmakers were only helping with teacher staffing, especially in underserved areas.
Parliamentarians will not take over the duties of the TSC. Melly says that their solutions for schools help with the management and staffing of the schools and are a good fit for them.

He believed that any principle ought to be competent to lead any institution. He campaigned for a system-wide shift that eliminated the national and county school labels in order to make this happen.
He claimed that many instructors were prevented from receiving promotions because of this label, which was a requirement for chief principal rises and other positions.
